I am Lindsay Sharp and I have six years of teaching under my belt. Of those years, four were in 5th grade, and the last two have been in Transitional Kindergarten. Though I loved teaching 5th grade science (I got to teach it three times a day), TK is the place for me. I always knew I wanted to teach young kids, I just didn't know how young until I jumped into TK and fell in love. It is amazing how every day the kids are excited to see me, and I was excited to see them. There are no (okay, very few) attitudes, and the kids actually really love coming to school every day and learning new things. It is an amazing grade to teach. I will be teaching TK again next year, and I can't wait.
Beside teaching I am also part time baker and a part time bartender (I did
that all through college and they are nice enough to let me pick up shifts in
the summer). My mini cupcakes are sold at the bar I work at, and are ordered
often for parties and weddings. In my free time I am also a lover of
photography, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the LA Kings, reading, hot sauce, coffee, walking, and
spending time at the beach. I look forward to sharing my classroom adventures with
you!
I have a BA in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from Cal State Long Beach, and a MA in Elementary Education from Loyola Marymount University. I recently earned a certificate in Transitional Kindergarten and Early Childhood Education.
This July I am presenting at the I Teach K! National Kindergarten Conference.
